Week #1 - Movies

Post by ARMT » Tue Sep 17, 2013 2:58 am

Blast From The Past
Is there an old movie that you desperately want to see again, but just can't find? Suggest it below, or add your support to a choice made by someone else.

The staff and community here will try their very best to find the most popular film each week, providing it has been ripped.

Along with the title of your movie, provide an IMDB link in code tags, so what you type will look something like this:

TITLE OF MOVIE
THE IMDB LINK
Maybe you could tell everyone why you really want to see your movie again, that would be up to you.

I wouldn't mind seeing this old chestnut again:

The Princess Bride (1987)

Code: Select all

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093779/
I've only got a VHS copy, and I very much doubt that my VCR is still in working order, having been stuck away in a damp & musty attic for a decade or so.
I never used to laugh much at supposèd general comedy films (I found other things funny); this was one of the few exceptions, and having seen a few clips lately, I think some of it would still make me laugh now, too.
I love Mandy Patinken as Inigo Montoya, and he's in one of my favourite swordfight scenes of all times in this film.

The Princess Bride 1987, what version are you looking for, DVDRiP, DVDR, 720p or 1080p?

Aren't we supposed to be waiting until there's some competition, so that the most popular choice wins the round?

You know what would be interesting? Rework & other request fillers ... what do you have trouble finding that you want to see? Would be interesting to see if anyone out there could find something for you!

I wasn't specific, as I wasn't sure what options were available, but think the 720p would be great, or even the DVDrip if it's a good one.

Patinkin was 35 at the time. How about seeing him aged 28, playing the narrator, Che in Broadway's original adaptation of Evita (for which he got a Tony as Featured Actor in a Musical in 1980)? He starts at 2m20s:

ok so ive got what i think is a good week 2 suggestion one of my favorite old school films called The Warriors.

Code: Select all

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080120/?ref_=sr_2
my favorite part has to be the "warrior come out to play" bit.
